Used Tanning Bed

A used tanning bed can be as good an investment as a new one. The main benefit of purchasing a used bed, as opposed to a new one, is that you can save hundreds of dollars. Being used does not automatically mean that the bed is old. There are many reasons people get rid of their tanning beds. Sometimes beds are replaced by different models, or people find that they no longer have the room required for a bed. Occasionally a person just stops using it and sells it to get it out of the way. Regardless of the reason they are being sold, purchasing a used tanning bed can mean that you are getting a good deal on a product that you really want.

Before purchasing a used tanning bed, you should first look into what kind of bed you want. Ask yourself some questions. Do you want a canopy that just tans from above and is easily stored, taking up less space? Or do you want a stand up tanning booth? Do you want a bed that completely encloses you? Is there a brand you prefer? How many tanning lamps does your bed need? What sort of lamps do you prefer your bed to use?

After answering these questions, you can start looking into purchasing a used tanning bed. There are many options when it comes to where to look for one. The classified ads in your local newspaper could be a good source to look into. Also, if you noticed a tanning salon going out of business, sometimes they will sell their beds at a discounted rate. Ebay is a good source to look into. There are occasionally beds as low as one hundred dollars for sale on ebay. Usually they are for local pick-up only at this price, so make sure they are in your area before purchasing them.

When purchasing a used tanning bed, there are also things that you want to find out before you buy it. Check to see how many hours it has been used. The more hours on a bed, the more likely that some of the parts will need replaced. Look over the bed, if possible, to see if there is any obvious damage. Acrylics can be wore or cracked with repeated usage and might need to be replaced. Be sure that the lamps all light, and if not, that it is just the lamp that will need to be replaced. There are other reasons a lamp might not light, including the starter, lamp socket and the ballast. The more parts that are wore or not working, the higher the price will be in the long run. Be sure that the costs of replacing the parts will not be more than you will want to pay in addition to the cost of the bed.

Even with the cost of replacing parts on a used tanning bed, the bed will most likely be cheaper than buying a new one. Some tanners prefer to buy a new one so that they will not have to worry about replacing parts for awhile. Choose the option that best suits you and your budget. Most importantly, choose a bed that suits your needs. Then you can lay back, relax and get a beautiful tan!
